Poor, Poor Willa

The photograph below is said to show Willa Rhoads, the beautiful 16-year-old adopted daughter of William and Martha Rhoads, as she appeared when found long-deceased and secreted beneath her parent’s Venice, California, home in 1929. This shot comes from Troy Taylor’s Whitechapel Press blog, and is credited as an “LAPD Crime Photo.” Taylor says he scanned the photo out of the Feral House book Death Scenes: A Homicide Detective’s Scrapbook, by Katherine Dunn (edited by Sean Tejaratchi).

Her parents belonged to the Blackburn Cult...it was believed that she could later be revived. And all the information I have seen about the picture suggests that it is indeed Willa Rhoads
